Female Krav Maga & Self Defense In Boston
Female self defense is less about kneeing someone in the groin as hard as you can - though this is a very reasonable technique! - and more about providing training in situational awareness, predator profiling and de-escalation and avoidance methods.
Although it is necessary to learn how to physically defend yourself it is even more important to learn how to avoid potentially dangerous situations by identifying at the earliest opportunity those individuals who may have some form of harmful intent towards you. Learning how to make dynamic risk assessments of potentially dangerous situations and training in exit strategies are crucial elements of a reality based womens self defense system. Krav Maga offers all these components as standard training - something you would expect from a system taught to close protection operatives who often have to work closely with individuals who disguise their harmful intent.
Individuals who carry out sexual assualts and rapes are by and large predators who are socially competent and very capable face-to-face ciminals: individuals who know how to gain access to their victims and gain trust very quickly. We may read or hear about the accounts of rapes, which have happened in the victims own home and proceed to make judgements about how they should never have let the assailant in the house - something we believe we would never do. We must all be honest with ourselves here and recognize that there are times where we have broken our own rules because a person seems plausible or because the situation seems safe. Sexual Predators are extremely skilled at manipulating us and making us compromise against our better judgements. It is luck more than skill, which keeps us safe.
With proper sitautional awareness and predator profiling training we can all learn the very real skills which will ensure to keep us safe.
The Israeli Krav Maga program is designed for men as well as women and all of the techniques are able to be carried out by women. This is why we are able to train women alongside men without having to arrange special classes.
